Distribution Transfer Capability Expansion

Utilizing Existing Utility Corridors

One cable position. Two separate distribution conductors. Airbornway LLC is developing a patented architecture that combines two conventional distribution conductors into one cable assembly while keeping them electrically separated. Both can operate on the same phase, increasing capacity from a single cable position.

PATENTED CONDUCTOR ARCHITECTURE

Conductor A and Conductor B are separate electrical paths. They do not touch. A dielectric element holds them together while maintaining electrical separation. For distribution both conductors can operate on the same phase, increasing capacity from a single cable position. Conventional conductors. One cable assembly

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Utilities are seeking practical ways to increase electrical transfer capability within existing utility corridors.

Airbornway's patented conductor architecture is designed to help meet that need.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS

  • Increased transfer capability within existing utility corridors
  • More efficient use of existing utility infrastructure
  • Potential to reduce future corridor expansion requirements
  • Compatible with existing utility planning and deployment practices
  • Installed, owned, and operated by the electric utility

DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY

Airbornway is following a structured development pathway from manufacturing evaluation through engineering validation, testing, certification, and utility evaluation.

INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT

Airbornway is interested in learning where increased transfer capability within existing utility corridors is a challenge for utilities and infrastructure owners.

If your organization is evaluating such opportunities, we welcome the opportunity to discuss whether the Airbornway concept may warrant further evaluation.
